Pennsylvania Food and Drink

Various regions in Pennsylvania have their own specialities, like cheesesteaks in Philadelphia to Pierogi’s in Pittsburgh.

Specialities:

• Mountain trout - typically caught in the Pocono Mountains area.
• Pennsylvania Dutch food - a unique variation of German cuisine including shoo-fly pie (a sweet dessert made with molasses) and popular in the Lancaster area.
• Cheesesteaks -a popular fast food in Philadelphia, it is a sandwich of thin strips of beefsteak with melted cheese in a long hoagie roll
