Flying to Taiwan
Taiwan is well connected by air, with two major international gateways: Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) near Taipei, and Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) in the south. Taoyuan handles the majority of long-haul flights, while Kaohsiung is convenient for travellers heading directly to southern Taiwan.
Direct flights operate from cities across Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania, with major airlines including China Airlines, EVA Air, and a range of international carriers. Budget airlines also serve regional routes, making Taiwan accessible from many Asian hubs.

Travel by rail
Getting to Taiwan by boat
There are occasional ferry services between mainland China (e.g. Fuzhou, Xiamen) and Taiwan's offshore islands such as Kinmen and Matsu.

Cruise ships stop at Taiwanese ports such as Keelung, Kaohsiung, and Hualien, usually as part of multi-country itineraries.
