Weather in Quito

Best time to visit

With year round temperatures averaging 15°C (59°F), there's never a bad time to visit Quito. Much of its weather pattern is influenced by its location in the Andes Mountains. The most popular time to visit is during the winter months of June, July and August when it's sunny with little wind and rain and temperatures are a warm 19°C (66°F). Between the summer months of December and March is the rainy season which makes walking around the city a less attractive option. Bear in mind too that the evenings can get chilly throughout the year, particularly when a cold front blows in, so it pays to take something warm to wear, no matter when you visit.
