Flying to Nairobi

International flights land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, about 14km (nine miles) from the centre of town. British Airways and Kenya Airways operate direct flights to Nairobi from the UK. There are currently no direct flights from the USA, though Kenya Airways plans to have a direct connection by October 28 2018. Fares peak from December to January, and are cheapest around September.

Some domestic flights fly from tiny Wilson Airport, about three kilometres (two miles) from the centre.

Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is located around 12km (7.5 miles) to the southeast of central Nairobi, in the Embakasi suburb of the capital.


Money:

ATMs, banking facilities and currency exchange services are available in the terminal building and in the arrival area.


Luggage:

There is a left-luggage service at the airport. For inquiries about lost luggage, contact the Kenya Airport Authority offices in the arrivals building. Luggage wrapping and weighing stations are also available in the check-in areas.
