Cagliari Elmas Airport Guide (CAG)
Cagliari Elmas Airport serves the principal Sardinian city, at the southern tip of the Italian island, to which it is the primary gateway. An information desk and tourist information counter (+39 070 2112 1281) are located on the ground (Arrivals) floor of the terminal building.
From the centre of Cagliari, take route SS130 north. This road passes the airport entrance, which is fully signposted.
Public Transport
Regular trains (tel: 892 021; www.trenitalia.com) operate into Cagliari from the airport railway station, which is a 5-minute walk from the terminal complex (journey time: 5-7 minutes; fare: €1.25).
Bus:ARST (Aziende Regionale Trasporti; tel: +39 070 4098 324;www.arst.sardegna.it) runs shuttle buses to the city centre every 30 minutes throughout the day (journey time: 10 minutes; fare: €4).
Taxi:Cabs (tel: +39 070 400 101; www.cagliaritaxi.com) are readily available outside the terminal. Journey time to the city centre is about 10 minutes, and fares range from €15-20.
Terminal facilities
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Cagliari Elmas Airport. Public telephones are also dotted throughout the terminal.
A number of food and beverage options are available, including a fast food outlet, a sit-down restaurant, wine bar and pastry café.
A wide selection of shops is available in Departures, selling a range of international and local products including fashion items, liquor and tobacco as well as typical souvenirs.
Baggage trolleys are available at the airport. A lost property office is open during weekdays that can assist with any missing luggage enquiries (tel: +39 070 2112 1523).
Airport facilities
There are no meeting rooms at the airport, but there is a Meridiana VIP lounge immediately after security offering passengers a quiet working environment.
A number of meeting rooms are available at the Holiday Inn hotel (tel: +39 070 5379; www.ihg.com) 3km (2 miles) from the airport and at other large hotels in the city centre.
Long- and short-stay parking (tel: +33 070 2112 1560) is available in three car parks close to the terminal. Short-term is immediately outside Arrivals, and there is a multistorey Long Stay facility a little further away. The third car park, to the south, offers flat daily rates.
Numerous car rental agencies are represented at the airport; desks are located in a dedicated building outside the terminal. Companies present include Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Sixt and a number of local operators.
The closest accommodation to the airport, the 4-star Holday Inn offers a range of meeting rooms plus a business centre, gym, outdoor pool and sauna. There is a restaurant and cocktail bar.

Also within 4km (2.5 miles) of the airport, the Sardegna Hotel has 84 rooms, a restaurant serving classic Sardinian food, and 24-hour reception. There is also a large conference centre at the hotel.
